Approved Training Centres (ATCs) must ensure candidates undertake e-Assessments in suitable environments - quiet, well-lit, and private spaces without interruptions. All unauthorised materials should be removed unless otherwise permitted (e.g., open-book assessments).
If an e-Assessment is taken remotely, candidates must use a secondary electronic device, such as a smartphone with an operational camera, to show the invigilator the room and ensure no unauthorised materials are present. The device's screen should be visible to the invigilator throughout the assessment.
For assessments requiring access to specific data (e.g., British Standards), the electronic device must be owned and maintained by the ATC and configured to prevent internet access during the assessment. It should also be free of unauthorised content and available for post-assessment checks by the ATC.
If an ATC wishes to amend e-Assessment requirements or introduce new technology, prior authorisation from FireQual is required. For more information, refer to FireQual’s e-Assessment Policy and Guidance.
