FireQual Seeks Fire Risk Assessment Experts for Steering Group

FireQual is seeking up to ten additional members for its Fire Risk Assessment Qualification Steering Group.

FireQual, the specialist Awarding Organisation for the fire sector, is seeking up to ten additional members for its Fire Risk Assessment Qualification Steering Group. This group will play a pivotal role in overseeing and monitoring qualifications in this critical area, ensuring they remain robust, relevant, and aligned with industry needs.

FireQual is a member of the Home Office working group tasked with setting out the minimum requirements of Fire Risk Assessor regulated qualifications, are are working alongside other awarding organisations to ensure that high standards are established and maintained across the sector. This initiative builds on the recommendations outlined in the Collaboration For Change report (EDGE, January 2020), which called for increased professionalisation and competency in Fire Risk Assessment.

Members of the Fire Risk Assessment Qualification Steering Group will have the opportunity to help shape the future of Fire Risk Assessment qualifications, ensuring that they meet the evolving demands of the industry and regulatory frameworks. Alongside reviewing training and Continuing Professional Development options, the Steering Group will contribute to the advancement and development of FireQual’s dedicated Fire Risk Assessment qualifications. FireQual’s suite of Fire Risk Assessment qualifications has supported professionals in developing the behaviours, knowledge, and skills required to conduct Fire Risk assessments effectively in the field. These qualifications allow individuals to demonstrate that they have undertaken the necessary learning to enhance their competence and confidence within their roles.

Who Should Apply?

FireQual is looking for members with experience and a keen interest in Fire Risk Assessment who understand the importance of quality, compliance with Third-Party Certification, and regulatory standards. Applicants should be committed to upholding high standards in the profession and bringing valuable insight into qualification development.

Key Details

This is a volunteer position (unpaid).

Steering Group meetings will be conducted via video conference calls at least three times per year.
