Extinguisher Technician's Refresher
The latest edition of BS 5306-3 requires individuals to maintain their competency at 3-year intervals covered through refresher training and successfully completing an examination. Refresher training should normally include:
- Provisions of BS 5306-3, BS 5306-8, BS 5306-9, BS 5306-10, BS EN 3-7, BS EN 2*
- Safety/advisory notices and product recalls issued by regulatory/trade bodies
- Legal requirements relating to the transportation of extinguishers (ADR)
- Legal requirements set out in the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016*
- Relevant UK statutory regulations including fire legislation
- Disposal of extinguishing media
- Safe working practices in workshop and on site
- Health and safety issues affecting a service technician
- Commissioning services
- Basic and extended services
- Recharging
- Overhauling
- New classes of fire
- New products in the marketplace
- New requirements
- Practical installation
The FireQual Extinguisher Technician's Refresher e-Assessment allows individuals to complete the examination requirement for BS 5306-3 and, as it is administered through our online e-Assessment system, candidates can sit it at a location and time to suit their needs.
FireQual does not provide the training or materials for this endorsed programme, these are developed and delivered through a network of Approved Training Centres (ATCs).
