Training EXP has been approved to provide the Responsible Person (Fire Safety) Award as a FireQual Recognised Programme.

This entitles individuals to gain certification for completion of a programme of learning separate to the FireQual regulated qualification offering.

Recognised Programmes exist where there is a requirement or it is seen as best practice to undertake a programme of learning to carry out a role but where there is no requirement or the subject is not appropriate for a regulated qualification or where there is no regulated qualification offering currently provided by FireQual. 

Responsible Person (Fire Safety) Award

The course will reinforce the knowledge of professionals who have a responsibility to Manage Fire Safety within Buildings. The learning program will give you the skills and knowledge to navigate yourself through the complex industry requirements and procedures. You will cover a range of regulatory standards which will help you excel within fire safety management. You will also learn what the requirements are to manage fire safety in buildings in accordance with the RRFSO, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 & The Building Safety Act 2022. As an addition to the course, you will be giving an insight into passive fire protection where you will learn about inspection of PFP products (Firestopping), fire door inspection, maintenance, and identification.

  • Encourage candidates to comprehend the value of their role in fire safety
  • Knowledge – Familiarise with the relevant regulations, guidelines, products and standards but most importantly working duties in the industry
  • Skills - Application of the guidelines and regulations for the industry. Develop inspection abilities that encompass a wide range of industry best practises.
  • Establishment of work habits - Establish good work habits that will encourage compliance and good standard practises in accordance with regulations and industry recommendations.
  • Encourage an organised, rigorous approach to pre-planning fire safety previsions in buildings.
